We are so proud to introduce our team of Wellness Warriors for this school year. We are working towards the Amber Flag, an initiative from Pieta House that encourages, promotes and develops awareness of positive mental health and wellbeing for all members of our school community. Keep an eye on this page to keep track of all the wonderful work that we are doing!
The Amber Flag is an initiative run by Pieta House which recognises the individual efforts of primary and secondary schools, youth reach, third level institutions, community groups, clubs and companies to create healthy, inclusive environments that support mental wellbeing. The Amber Flag aims to promote positive mental health and wellbeing for all members of the school community. Positive wellbeing means feeling good in our body and your mind, getting on well with others, feeling grateful for everything you have, enjoying life and feeling proud of the special person that you are. We are so excited to get started on this journey in Grange National School!
The week of 27th November to 1st December is our Wellness Week. We have lots of lovely activities planned for this week and we're really looking forward to the fun ahead! Here's a sample of some of the things that we will be doing, along with our timetable of activities.
We had such a wonderful time during Wellness Week - the atmosphere around the school was simply sublime! Here's a taste of what we got up to.
We were thrilled to invite Mandy Engelke Desmond back to us this year for Wellness Wednesdays. Last year's four week block was such a success that this year we asked if she could do 8 weeks with the children. The children had a fantastic time, and the whole school benefitted so much from our Wellness sessions on Wednesdays! Thanks so much to Mandy for her wonderful work with the children and also a deep thanks to the Parents' Association for subsidising this wonderful experience for the children.
